The short version
- Your progress and settings are saved in your browser, on your device.
- An account is optional. If you make one, we keep your email address, display name and a hashed password (or the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us), plus your cloud saves.
- The game records play statistics. They are anonymous unless you sign in, in which case they are linked to your account. You can switch them off in Settings, and we honor Global Privacy Control.
- No ads and no third-party trackers. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
- You can delete your account, and its cloud saves, at any time in the game's Settings → Account → Delete account.
Who is responsible for your data?
The team behind Just One More Prompt?! (“we”, “us”) runs the game and this website and is responsible for the personal data described here. Our contact details are at the end of this page.
What is saved in your browser?
The game runs in your browser and saves there, in your browser's local storage on your device:
- your Story and Endless saves, plus a backup copy of each previous save;
- your settings, such as sound, motion, number format and the “Share anonymous stats” switch;
- a random player ID used for play statistics (see below).
This data stays on your device unless you sign in to an account, in which case your saves are uploaded as described below. Deleting a save in Settings, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes it. Settings → Copy backup gives you your save as text; what you do with that copy is up to you.
What does an optional account store?
You can play without an account. If you create one, you choose how to sign in:
- Email and password. We store your email address, the display name you choose and your password, which is kept only as a hash, never in readable form.
- Google sign-in. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password.
A session cookie keeps you signed in on that browser. It is needed for the account to work and is not used for tracking or advertising. While you are signed in, your saves are uploaded to our servers so they stay in sync across your devices. We use your email address only for account emails: a confirmation when you sign up and a reset link when you ask for one.
What play statistics does the game collect?
To learn which parts of the game work and which don't, the game sends a small set of play statistics:
- a random player ID stored in your browser;
- events: when a session starts, levels reached, tutorial and story progress and play time, plus other in-game milestones such as badges earned, daily rewards and quests claimed, shop purchases and shares;
- your device type (phone, tablet or computer) and the domain of the site that sent you to the game, if any;
- your country, which our host works out from your connection when an event arrives. We do not store your IP address.
While you are signed out, these statistics are anonymous: they are tied only to the random player ID. If you sign in while statistics are on, that ID is attached to your account, so your statistics are linked to it, and we can see your devices, level, play time and recent in-game moments next to your account in our admin dashboard.
To stop sending them, open the game's Settings and switch off Share anonymous stats. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that switch being off.
Is any of this used for advertising?
No. There are no ads in the game and no third-party trackers or analytics scripts on this site. We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising or build advertising profiles.
Who else handles the data?
A few service providers help us run the game. They process data only on our behalf:
- our hosting provider, which serves the website and the game and runs our servers;
- our database provider, which stores accounts, cloud saves and statistics;
- an email delivery service, which sends account emails such as sign-up confirmations and password resets;
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long is data kept?
- Accounts and cloud saves: until you delete your account. Settings → Account → Delete account removes the account and its cloud saves.
- Play statistics: raw statistics events are deleted after 180 days.
- Data in your browser: until you delete the save in Settings or clear this site's data.
What are your choices and rights?
- Play without an account.
- Switch off play statistics in Settings, or use Global Privacy Control.
- Delete your account and its cloud saves in Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Delete local saves in Settings (Delete this save) or by clearing this site's data.
- Ask us for a copy of your account data, or to correct or delete it, using the contact details below.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California), you may have more rights, such as the right to object to how we use your data and to complain to your data protection authority.
Is the game meant for children?
The game is made for players aged 16 and up. It is not directed at children under 13, and children under 13 must not create an account. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Will this policy change?
If the game starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also say so in the game or on this site.
